Subject: R-Comp announce DataPower 3.10

We are pleased to announce that DataPower version 3.10 will be
shipping at Wakefield this weekend.  It will be a free upgrade to all
DataPower 3.xx owners.

The new version includes the ability to create email directly from
your database, using R-Comp's DirectMail system.  This opens up a lot
of flexibility for DataPower users - imagine a database that can
automatically email out subscription reminders, or information
requests as needed.  You could have a sales database that
automatically emailed invoices out to customers or do email-mailshots
to customers from within the database.

By adding email capability to DataPower, it brings the program into
the internet age, and allows databases to provide feedback via modern
communication.

A "PC Keys" function has been added to make keyboard handling in
DataPower match between RISC OS and Windows, which we know will please
many users!

DataPower 3.10 also introduces a revised/expanded choices system which
makes upgrading between versions much easier.

There are also many bug-fixes, and improvements to the software (eg.
graphic display has been re-coded to deal with some quirks on Iyonix
systems) and many smaller tweaks have been included as a result of
development work on another (DataPower-based) project due to be
announced this week.

Existing users will receive the update in the next 2 weeks (depending
on workload pre/post-show).  This week suddenly got a *lot* busier for
us, so we may not have time to prepare a neatly packaged update until
aftwerwards!  We'll try though...

Commenting on the new version, R-Comp's Andrew Rawnsley said, "It is
nice to be able to provide updates to DataPower, as this much-loved
RISC OS application deserves our regular attention!  We promised DP3
users ongoing updates, and following DP3.02 and 3.05, 3.10
demonstrates our commitment to improving and enhancing the program.
Recent user-group demonstrations rammed home to us just how flexible
and powerful DataPower is, and we're pleased to deliver v3.10 to
customers."
