After a month's hard programming I am pleased to announce to all
Sudoku fans that SuperDoku 1.20 is now on the Sine Nomine Software
website at http://sinenomine.co.uk/software/
SuperDoku 1.20 introduces Hitoshii or KenKen puzzles, which feature
arithmetic in addition to standard Sudoku logic. The grid is divided
into marked areas in which you are given a total and an arithmetic
operator (plus, minus, times or divide). The numbers in the area must
combine using that operator to make the total. Add to that the Sudoku
rule of every row and column of a 6x6 puzzle containing the numbers
1-6 and you have quite a mental challenge.
As you would expect from SuperDoku, not only are Hitoshii puzzles
available in the popular 6x6 size but also in every size from 4x4 to
9x9.
What else is new in version 1.20?
* You can now ctrl-click on a value in the notepad window to highlight
all squares where you have marked that value as possible.
* You can now ctrl-click on a value in the puzzle window to highlight
all occurrences of that value.
* Adjust-clicking on the iconbar icon now opens the Create puzzle
window.
* Speed improvement to Killer puzzle generation.
The demo version of SuperDoku allows you to try four different puzzles
of each type and size or to solve ten which you type in. To upgrade
to the full version costs just 5 pounds which can be paid via PayPal
or cheque.
About SuperDoku:
SuperDoku is an advanced Sudoku generating and solving program. You
can type in your own puzzles, or have puzzles created for you at three
levels of difficulty. SuperDoku will give you hints on how to solve
puzzles, or solve them for you. Incomplete puzzles can be saved for
another time, or you can export puzzles as Draw files in order to
print them out for use away from your computer. A wide variety of
different shapes, sizes and styles of puzzle are available including:
* 8 different sizes of Sudoku puzzle, from 4x4 to 25x25
* Jigsaw puzzles (like ordinary puzzles but with irregular blocks)
* Twin puzzles and Samurai puzzles (two or five overlapping grids)
* Colour coded puzzles (Sudoku plus extra restrictions on values)
* Killer puzzles (Sudoku plus arithmetic)
* Comparison puzzles (Sudoku where comparison signs show which of two
neighbouring squares in a block has the smaller value)
* Futoshiki puzzles (Sudoku grid with no blocks, and some comparison
signs between neighbouring squares)
* Hidden word (like normal Sudoku but with letters instead of numbers)
* Corner puzzles (top left and bottom right blocks are identical)
* Puzzles with extra overlapping blocks (square, cross or twisted)
