No libntp.so
|
| |
Hello NTP-World :-), we are implementing a NTP supervision for our ATC middleware. Initially we are doing it by repeated "ntpq" executions and textual evaluations of the results. We have had to notice that pipes are very unsuited for the task, so we really fork it and close its stdin to make it flush. It works, but it is... more »

Very large offset and jitter values after reboot
|
| |
Hello, I have now successfully set up my machine to use a usb-gpd-mouse to set the time. Strangely every time I reboot I get results like this, wich settle down after a (not so short) while: remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ============================== ============================== ==================... more »

nmea stopped working all of a sudden
|
| |
Hello everyone, since I didin't get ntp to work using pps due to a noisy pps line as it looks, I switched over to simple nmea in order go have at least something to synchronize my clocks, because it is crucial that they are... That worked out of the box and all of a sudden just stopped. Since I changed a lot of things in order to make the box work fully-automatic, I can't say for sure if I broke something or what happened.. Still I am very puzzled...... more »

strange ntpd behaviour when modyfing stratum
|
| |
Hi all, I'm running ntp-4.2.4p4 on FreeBSD. I was observing today the ntpd with ntpq and manipulating the stratum number of local time sources in ntp.conf. I've noticed that when I've disabled all pps sources and worked only with two gps antennas (receiving to ntp nmea frames only, ignoring pps, I set stratum 8 for antenna0 and stratum 12 for antenna1) the ntp has... more »

More problems with multicast server as peer
|
| |
Moin, I'm using the p118 tarball with Linux both sending and receiving multicast (IPv4+6) timestamps. As far as I know, the sending machine is operating as expected -- `tcpdump' shows the desired broadcasts about every 16 seconds on the two multicast addresses. Also, the listening machine can successfully initialise itself... more »

NTP Drifts +ve and -ve
|
| |
Hi,We are using NTP4, when CPU is very busy some of the UDP packets dropped by the kernel, so the local clock drifts 60 milliseconds from the time server. From that point NTP keeps drifts +ve and -ve for 2 to 3 three days to become stable. The graph looks a like a sine wave oscillating and reaching zero after 3 days.My question are:1. Why NTP drifting +ve and -ve?2. Why should NTP taking 3 days for correcting 60 milliseconds?3. Is this a problem or it is expected? Regards,Arul... more »

How to deal with a radio NOT set to UTC
|
| |
For operational reasons, our radios are set to output in local time. Is there anyway to configure the driver or daemon to deal with this and convert to UTC? I'm using the TrueTime driver.
