What led you to Linux?

As for me, I first tried Linux mainly because I'd heard that it was a good environment for programming, and since it was free I just had to try it. I went with Mandrake, and quite liked it. I presume others have similar reasons. But I wonder if, for example, anyone tried Linux purely for political reasons.... more »
