Event:                  Guernsey's International Day of Climate Action
Date:           24 October 2009
Time:           3 pm
Location:       North end of Vazon Beach
Purpose:        Take a group photograph to be shown around the world.

Organiser of the global event 350.org ( http://www.350.org/ ) wants
every community activity in support of the International Day of
Climate Action to be photographed.  So far over 3000 communities are
involved.

The photograph will be displayed in Times Square, New York, and at the
world climate conference in Copenhagen in December. It will be used to
raise awareness of the public support for political action to tackle
climate change.

350 is the number in parts per million (ppm) that scientist believe is
the C02 concentration in the atmosphere that humanity needs to aim for
to lessen the risk of unmanageable climate change.

During the event The Electric Vehicle Company will offer test drives
of their electric cars.  We will try our hand at beach rake art and
enjoy a community beach walk.  We hope to organise other activities in
the coming days.
