The Chief Executive for West Wiltshire PCT has responded to the White
Paper by announcing that the planned closure of community hospitals in
West Wiltshire will continue - her interpretation of the paper is that
Patricia Hewitt agrees with WW closure programme and that her vision to
close Westbury Hospital will be implemented without the public
consultation which Lord Warner referred to as being essential before
closures were made for financial reasons.
We must continue to fight the closure programme using the evidence we
have and the White Paper recommendations
