I would like to welcome our first members to this new group! :)
First thank you so much for joining and I hope this group will become
everything you may need. As with all new communities it will take some
time to build this into a stronge well communicating community. But
rest asured I have many successful communities under my belt and am
dedicated to this more than I have been with any of the others.
I am aiming this place at mainly native English speakers from anywhere
in the world, who are now living in Bogota and Colombia in general.
But feel free to join if you are not. Target is to have up to 100
active members in this group by the end of the Year with about 200-300
more as passive members. That is a high figure for a new community of
this sort. But I believe we can do it. ;)
I myself am born a raised In London UK, I have lived in many other
countries across Europe and am part German myself. I am married with a
wonderful Colombian lady and am planning to move to Bogotá next Year,
for a few Years to begin with. I have made many visits to Bogotá and
most parts of Colombia.
I would really really like to hear of any comments, complaints and/or
suggestions for our new community. The only way this place will be
succesful is if it's members partake in it's functioning. I really
need at least two people who would be able to take on moderator roles.
Basic tasks will be to approve groups posts held in pending statues.
As this group must not have have any SPAM. I will be posting a group
charter in time in so that everyone knows what is allowed and what
isn't.
In the long term I see this being a major hub for English speakers
living in Bogotá. It will be the number one place for local
information, eating out, nightlife, local events, renting, selling &
buying, tech advice, travel info, meetings, politics (friendly),
locasl businesses of interest and just general discussion.. Can think
of any more at the moment (please let us know if you have any
requests)...
Once again, many thanks and please use this community, that is what
it's here for.
Kind Regards, Stuart (Administrator)

Hi, many thanks for your post. I've not been to malgar before.. Must
check it out if it's recommended? Just that at the moment I am not in
Bogotá, infact I'm in London UK for the time being. But will be moving
in a little while to Bogotá.
What is it that you do in Colombia and where are from originaly?
I've just edited the links you posted as the html code don't work in
the groups discussion page. Will do the same with your other post.
Take care,

This group will be a success. Pbh is a very active community, but I am
positive that this group will over take it once it has opened fully.
I already have great experience in setting up such communities. An
example would be my German forum: http://www.toytowngermany.com/ Take
a look for the kind of discussion I hope have taking place here.
I would be very grateful to hear what you would like in this
community?
Although it may only start taking shape once I am in Bogotá, which
should be no sooner than a Year away. I may have to freeze the group
until that time comes. It that is the case I will inform the group
before hand.
Many thanks and please keep the group posted on any interesting
issues.
Kind Regards,
