I'm looking for stories, even if exaggerated, and photos of any kayak/
canoe action at the Bitches before 1995. That will include all of the
early rodeos when Jose Cuervo made half the rules. I am especially
interested in photos of early days kayaking out there. It's all for a
mini project putting together a brief history for such a great

Big tides on the way

September brings the biggest tides of the year and usually some great
post-summer weather.

The highest tide in September will be 7.4m on the 16/17 Sept. which is
mid-week so it'll be quiet too. Not quite as big as April was and
it'll be a few years until it's reaching 8m again...but we'll wait.

Kayaking holiday

Myself and a couple of other paddlers are thinking of having a few
days paddling around the Bitches at the end of August.
IU have paddled there before but about 10 years ago, so I'd like to
paddle with folk who know it a bit better.
