Richard,
The only one I can think of is a link to "Yesterday's news" at the
bottom of the front page. Otherwise just keep the "HTML-fiddling"
updates coming as required.
Forget it -- it'll never be as good as AvantSlash already is today!
Unless you can persuade them to buy and use AvantSlash as the official

New features/fixes for 2008

It's been a year since my last post ([link]) and
AvantSlash is still plodding along despite repeated efforts by the
Slashdot admin to fiddle about with the HTML for no good reason :)

As in 2007, I have a couple of bug fixes in the wings - regarding
viewing it on old WAP enabled phones - but that is really about it.

Version 3.10 is now available to download. The CHANGELOG is as
follows:
- Updated code to work around Slashdot's bizzare insistence that
requests to the main page have a referer of slashdot.org.
- Updated the issue functionality to work with Slashdot's recent HTML

Hi all,
Just come back from holiday to find that the Slashdot owners have
fiddled with the HTML and broken AvantSlash. When I say "fiddle", I
really do mean it as they've added a space to a label - I have no
idea why.
Anyway, if you can't wait for the official release, look for the

Yeah, I noticed too. Although Slashdot is easier to read on my mobile
phone now than before, there's still nothing I know of that beats
Avantslash. Hope Richard can sort out another update for us.
