Quicksilver Problem

Hi.
A friend has a G4 Quicksilver 733Mhz tower running Tiger.
Everytime she boots it up, the DVD drawer opens. Any ideas on how to stop
it.
I have been into StartUp Disc and selected the hard drive as default boot
device, but it makes no difference. There is no other OS or bootable drives
on the machine.

Quake 2 Mac Wanted

Hi.
I know this is a bit old, but back in my PC days I played nothing but
Quake 2. I did have it on the Mac once, but I don't know what happened
to it.
Does anyone have Quake 2 for the Mac. It is one of the greatest games
ever. Also if anyone has Quake I would be interested.

Web Domination

Hi.
I am on a mission to have a greater web presence, by having a page on
all the latest and greatest social sites (FaceBook, Twitter, MySpace,
Bebo) all pointing back to my website.
I just Googled my own name - yes I know how sad and self obsessed that
sounds - but I was pleasantly surprised and the results were better

Well, it isn't a massively popular list. It is still growing.

I have been into Macs for the past 9 years and have owned around 25 in
the time ranging from Classics, LCs, iMac G3, PowerBook G4, eMacs,
PowerMac G3 and G4 towers and had an Intel iMac. I've been into
computers for about 16 years.

The Buffalo card in my TiBook - which internally only takes an 11b
Airport card - is detected as an 11g Airport Extreme card.

It handles WPA beautifully. I was just wondering whether the rumours
of WPA encryption on the original Airport card was true.

Hi,

On my old powerbook I tried many times to get WPA working without
success. Even now I have an old Win laptop which has a buffalo card
and that can only handle WEP. I have never managed WPA.

Airport Card Wanted

Hi.
I am using a Buffalo WLI-CB-54G in my PowerBook PCMCIA slot. It is
great, it is recognised as an Airport Extreme card (giving me Extreme
speeds) and works without any drivers as it uses the same Broadcom
chip as Apples cards.
However, it is a bit unsightly, sticking out about an inch and it also

Hi Simon,

At the moment, not much, but as we have to get rid of lots in the near
future there may be quite a lot.

I haven't yet sorted through things - they will come in dribs &
drabs... cables, bits & pieces, software, possibly an old iMac (GWO -
my son's) but all things later...

I know my wife still has a Griffin iMate which she used to use with

Hello all,
I have two cables and a cable selector free to a good home. These are
old round style 8 pin serial connectors. The selector (switch box) is
half round with 3 socket outputs and a plug, and a switch to change
between the outputs.
