Good day,

My name is Mel Mitchell, I have been wondering why something like this
has'nt been developed in the US for empirical calculations reguarding
corporate data.....by developing this platform a bit,(I hope), I will
be able to accomplish this through virtualization. Hi all,

Many apologies for the recent spam on this mailing list. Why Google
can't apply their spam filtering to their groups I will never
understand. I have now changed the moderation settings so that this
sort of thing can't get through any more.

Again, many apologies.

cheers,
James Smith

 Hi Colm,
2008/12/8 smallcog <c...@carbontracking.com>:
You can access the emission factors directly using the Data API
([link]). You can either take the
factors you get and use them yourself, or you can do on-the-fly
calculations without having to create a profile by adding parameters a

 Hello,

Lets say that I'm doing the data storage thing myself for whatever
reason. I'd like to use AMEE as the reference for emissions factors,
for example, the emissions factor for ecotricity electricity. Can
someone explain how I would do this ? I've looked at the documentation
and it doesn't make it clear to me. I wonder whether the documentation

 Hi Colm,

You *can* use AMEE that way, though if you store your data values in
AMEE, then you get a monthly total back anyway, so you wouldn't need
to do the calculation yourself at all.

There is newly-added support for meter readings in the /home/energy/
electricity and /home/energy/quantity categories. For each month, you

 Hello,

I researching a carbon accounting project which would be based solely
on energy usage figures, e.g meter readings . In the basic form each
user will input the readings on his gas/elec/oil meter on the monday
of each week. I don't really need to have AMEE calculate a monthly
total for me as the plan is to display the evolution of energy usage

 Morning,
2008/7/30 Andrew Conway <and...@dgen.net>:
I thought so - a lot of the things I want to do with AMEE depend on
people being able to access their profile from various different
places, so I think it's quite an important issue... for me at least :)
Indeed. If you know a profile UID, can you read it from a using a

 Hi James
Good question.
The closest thing we have at present is the "user" area of AMEE - it's
like a wiki but for data rather than text:
[link]
Of course the difference between this and what you describe is that the
"user" area is for adding data items, not profile items. The latter

 Hi all,
I've just pushed a load of updates to the AMEE ruby gem I started a
couple of weeks ago. It can now view DataCategories, DataItems, and
DataItemValues. There is example code for working with categories and
items. This should be enough for simple AMEE clients which only grab
data from the service and don't store any.
