Finally getting HDTV but questions...
Well we're FINALLY getting ready to take the plunge and get a couple of  HDTV's for Christmas this year. We've been tired of watching shrunken pictures now, with hdtv playing on our old CRT TV's. My TV in my bedroom has turned into a 25" with the shrunker picture now, and is hard to watch, so I'll be getting a 46"... more »

PCI x1 video card recommendations.
I recently bought a Hauppage WinTV-HVR-950Q USB HD tuner. Works a treat, great product. However, I am running an older ( '05 vintage ) eMachines T5206 which sports an Intel D915GAG motherboard and it is presently running using onboard video. This means the poor thing verges on 100% CPU on some channels.... more »

I may have ruined a perfect strangers day.
Coming out of Fry's manhattan Beach this afternoon there was a guy in front of me with his new Winegard PR-8800 UHF antenna. I told him he might have trouble with the VHF stations. He thinks all DTV is on UHF. Not 7, 9, 11 and 13 in LA. I wonder if the Fry's guys told him that was the right choice. G²... more »

The politics show
It looked to me like the Beeb's Jon Sopel was attempting to hang the 'racist' tag onto UKIP, because of Lord Pearson's views on the growing influence of Islam in this country.

Repair news on LCD's and Plasma needed
My 8 year old projector TV is costing me too much for repair mainly on color doubling up. This happened once before 3 years ago and had to pay a hefty $325 bill with 6 months warranty. Now, the same problem is happening again. I just had another repair man tell me he can fix it for $400 odd dollars and a year warranty...By me hesitating, I got him... more »

How do I fully connect an older DVR/HD-cable box to a modern HDTV?
I have a combined DVR and HD-receiver from my cable provider. It's from 2005, so it has a DVI jack instead of HDMI. I'm currently using it with a SDTV, through regular composite A/V cables. (There's also component video jacks in the back of the cable box.) I want to get a HDTV this Christmas. I already got a (free) DVI/HDMI converter cable... more »
