dolfrog <dolf...@dolfrog.com>

In the UK the National Research and Development Centre for Adult
Literacy and Numeracy (NRDC) which is help run the UK Governments
"Skills For Life" program sponsorded a review of research on
developmental dyslexia in adults.

The full report "Developmental dyslexia in adults: a research review -
Report (pdf 0.99 MB)" can be downloaded from
http://www.nrdc.org.uk/projects_details.asp?ProjectID=75
Includes as Appendix 1 from page 133, 28 definitions of dyslexia, 3 of
which come from the UK British Dyslexia Association.
Does thjis number of defintions mean that there is no agreement aboutr
waht dyslexia really is, and as most of the research to date has being
trying to define dyslexia as a condition, would these variations of
defintion indicate that dyalexia is not a condition in its own right
but more a shared symptom of a range of neurological information
processing disorders such as Auditory Processing Disorder, Visual
Processing Disorder, Scoptic Sensitivity (Irlen) Syndrome, etc

best wishes
