Subject: Early identification of dyslexia?
Do you have someone in your family with reading difficulties?
The Gaab Laboratory at Chidlren's Hospital in Boston is looking for
children ages 4-6 with a family history of reading difficulties for
research study.
What is involved?  We will play computer games with your child and
look at their language, reading, auditory and musical abilities. We
will also look how your child’s brain processes sounds, language and
pictures.  We are looking for pre-reading children with a family
history of reading difficulties (one parent or one sibling with
reading difficulties).
Why participate? Your help will be invaluable to families and
scientists interested in reading, language and cognitive development,
early diagnosis of learning disabilities and improvement of teaching
methods. Your child will play games and will receive a gift
certificate to a local bookstore and a picture of his or her brain.
Where? Children’s Hospital Boston/Waltham; Developmental Medicine
Center
When? At your convenience, weekdays or weekends.
How to participate? Contact the Gaab lab at gaab...@gmail.com
(subject: Research Study for Pre-Readers) or call (857) 218-6429.
