Parsing that number from available participants, and previous cult history of people without heads and using these events for 'crowd scene try-outs' (actors looking for work... and the fake crowd noise piped in... my guess is as follows:
1. the 400 to 500 figure is probably still high but lets use 500.
2. that would be every single full or part time staffer from within 500 miles attending and half of the flub land base staff.. that could easily be 300 or so...
3. Leaving the remaining 100 or 150 to be composed of maybe 30 old timers, 50 or so new recruits, and 50 or so current paying public from the surrounding states.
This comports with the 'crowd' analysis scene at the Flub Land base's recent grand reopening. a tiny crowd, all in the shot.. and not a soul shown on the side street, 2 feet to the side of the 'crowd' as would be the case with a normal crowd..people wander around...
maybe 200 people present, that would be a fraction of the staff at the fort harrison... and zero public... my guess though is 10 or 20 public, most of those staff from outer orgs doing micro courses.... maybe 3 or 4 paying public... and that is shown in their graduation lists... same guys doing micro courses that take a day or two. almost none doing major courses. .. and virtually NO repeating sir names... 99.9% the old timers are gone, and whats left is not sending their kiddies into the meat grinder either.
there is simply no indication at all of anything but rapid collapse happening with this cult. there is no viable base from which it can be rebuilt, the few remaining loyalists are certifiably loopy..no charisma, compromised by the insane dogma to remain that way... reminds me of Farty Heartburn... the *victim.
Hey Marty? after so many years as the cults lead thug and nutcase, *blaming others for being your victim... it would be impressive if you ceased claiming you your self was a victim of lil slappy.
the lil slappy hit me gig is disgusting bud, especially as you are dodging the long list of heavy felonies you have been involved in, from lying about Lisa McPhersons killing, to sending thugs to stalk Dennis, Arnaldo and myself... not impressive turd breath.
Now you are recruiting whats left of the drooling loonies from scn.... thats going to be hot...

with all this going on one wonders how long it will be before lil Tommy Cruise and John Travolta etc will have to give it up or end looking like drooling morons themselves.... my guess not long at all.
this mess is going down like a 747 with its wings cut off.

Come on Phil, that would cut into his marketability for repairing people's super powers. Did you watch that video on the Don Jason article though. Marty stalked him on an airplane, all the way to Milwaukee, and described himself as "The Terminator." I notice he isn't playing that up on his blog. (Who knows when Marty might flip a switch and start coming after you like a robot of ruin and destruction.)
Davis called Marty out on the Black Dianetics stuff, saying that put Marty in the "lunatic fringe." That's a little obvious, since in my opinion he was already in the lunatic fringe when he was playing Terminator for the White Dianetics cult.
I just hope Marty keep coming out with more and more, because he's got a lot of shit left to talk about.

But Sylvia Stannard says there were 3000.
I'm thinking Marty is doing more and more to bring this cult down, and they just won't be able to stop him. See, even if he is the "psycho lunatic" that Tommy Davis wants to brand him, well, readers don't know that, especially since he doesn't sound like he's waffling like Davis, and also it doesn't explain at all why the cult allowed this psycho lunatic to run amok in the cult for so many years.
The public, as well as current Scilons, are going to wonder what is Scientology/Miscavige doing to these executives to make them have to "escape" and then admit the methods of how they put pressure on people, who tried to escape before them. Marty brings out some very clear points about that. They accuse him of being a liar, and when he was in the cult, he accused anyone who disagreed with the cult, of being a liar. It is the Scientology way...
Plus, if Miscavige doesn't hit people, why isn't this litigation-crazy cult suing Marty for slander. Obviously, it is that Miscavige really hits people. They would lose in a court case, and whole bunches of dirty cult laundry would be aired before the world.

Some people who were there protesting thought there might have been as many as 1000. Even so, if that's the best they could do after begging people to come from all over the US, it's a pretty poor turnout.

I think 1000 is way too high. 600 is a VERY generous estimate... 500 seems much more likely due to the number of chairs present and lack of many scilons in the street. I saw more sea org uniforms and osa than I saw public.

ok thats good data, seA org would then be 250 to 300 of the 600 probably attending... the various *mission staffs would not be in any sort of uniform but in street cloths and every mission around would be sending people.
so we add those mission folks, probablu at least another 100 or so.... keaving paid public attending under 150 from a 500 mile radius.
the paid public is the stat that counts... staffers flown in are just padding.

When the largest ever scientology meeting in France happened in october 23, 2000 at La Bastille, the scientologists said they were 7000. I had shots of the whole crowd there, and counted heads the best I could. The figure was not over 1100, a number of them being not even scientologists, but raelians etc.
So, with the same exxagerration in DC Grand Opening, we could say hat indeed, no more than 400 people were there.
For the Capital of the richest and oldest scientology country, where the cult is installed since 1953 or so, that far fro any Great Opening!

the shot shows a crowd that can be estimated at less than 1000, unless a very large number is not on it. I compare to what I saw and said on Paris 2000 meeting, where clams said 7000 when they were grand maximum 1100 even counting all the non-scientologists present there.

Yeah, including those who came from Pittsburgh, North Carolina and other "major" east coast orgs. It's quite easy to pop down to D.C. on a shuttle flight or the train from New York, Philadelphia or Baltimore. The train trip from NYC to Washington is now less three hours -- basically a day trip.
