Indeed.
He's deliberately redefining the term "digital radio" so that it only
applies to DAB - that's blatantly dishonest and blatantly biased. He
basically wants everyone to think of DAB when they think of the term
"digital radio" so that the vast majority of people will buy DAB between now
and digital switchover. It's the most arrogant thing the BBC has done since

Yep. There are many digital systems that could trance DAB.
They made the mistake of choosing DAB, and the last thing they want to
do is admit their mistake. Instead they would rather do everything they
can to make it a success, to try to prove that they didn't get it wrong

What an unbelievably crass thing to say. In his speech, he talks of all
sorts of ways to get radio, through iPods, phones, internet, etc. Then
he wants to use the term which covers them all and apply it to just one
technology. If I were cynical I'd think he was deliberately trying to
muddy the waters.

That is probably true.
If we are talking about reception inside a building then it's a fair
point. But if we are talking about signals getting past buildings (which
is what I thought you meant), then I think you will find that defraction
around a building is more significant than penetration through it.

I suspect the colour screens are for the slide shows, carrying
advertising, to help pay for the astounding carriage fees.
