Subject: SLAVA watches made by socialist slaves under Soviet socialism
Los Angeles officials asked that suppliers of computer equipment stop
using the terms "master" and "slave," saying such terms are offensive.
The terms are sometimes used in reference to computer equipment.
http://rexcurry.net/wordmaster.html

It is unclear whether the official policy applies to the words "Mr."
and "Mrs." (Mister and Mistress) which are forms of "Master."

It is unclear whether the official policy applies to the words "Slav"
or "Slavic," the origin of the word "slave."

News outlets reported that a "discrimination complaint" alleged
"offended sensitivities." The media did not report whether any Slav or
the descendant of a Slav made the complaint. No one asked the Slavic
community for comments at all.

If it hasn't been done already, a complaint can be filed against the
terms "Mr." and "Mrs." and "Slav" so that Los Angeles officials can
expand their policy.

Reporters recounted that in 2000, the Los Angeles City Council
supported federal legislation seeking reparations for descendants of
slaves. Not a single reporter revealed how much money any Slav
descendant might receive, nor even whether the Slavic community
supports the legislation.

In the Hawaii Reporter Newspaper, the etymologist Dr. Rex Curry
explained that the word "slave" has the etymological root "Slav"
because Slavs were often enslaved ("Too Politically Correct: Los
Angeles Bans 'Master & Slave' and 'Mr. & Slav,' published 12/1/2003).
"Slavic" refers to a lot of people, including Caucasian, Slovak
(Czechoslovakian), Slovene (Slovenia & parts of Austria & Italy),
Polish, Serbo-Croatian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, and Russian.
http://rexcurry.net/wordsmain.html

People who continue to be classified as "Whites" (as distinguished
from people who are classified as "blacks") were enslaved around the
world -- especially the Slavs, from whom the word is derived in both
European languages and in Arabic.

According to the syndicated columnist Thomas Sowell, white slaves were
still being bought and sold in Egypt years after the Emancipation
Proclamation had freed many blacks in the United States.

Not only does slavery predate the U.S., slavery is a practice that
socialists and communists perpetuated well beyond the end of slavery
in the U.S., perpetuating slavery even into the 1950s, arguably
beyond.

Soviet socialists diverted the rivers that fed the inland Aral Sea and
used them to irrigate vast cotton fields where socialist slaves were
forced to pick cotton (This is not a joke). Many of those socialist
slaves actually were slavs (the etymological root of the word "slave"
due to the fact that even farther back in history, slavs were slaves.
The Aral Sea was once the world's fourth-largest body of fresh water,
covering an area the size of Ireland. But then the nation around it
were enslaved by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Their looney
planned economics and leviathan schemes shrank the Aral by 90 percent
to a string of isolated stretches of water. Long after Soviet
socialism collapsed, the Aral Sea began to recover.

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics even dictated the manufacture
of a watch bearing the name "SLAVA." Thus, it was a watch built by
socialist slaves under dictates of socialist slavery and it was named
"slava." http://rexcurry.net/slava-watch-soviet-socialist-slaves-ussr.jpg

Eventually the USSR realized the negative connotations of the watch's
name in the West. The name was changed to "Craba." In Cyrillic, the
word "slavs" is "славянин."

In addition to imposing slavery, socialists also perpetrated genocide.
The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Peoples' Republic of China
and the National Socialist German Workers' Party perpetrated the
socialist Wholecaust (of which the Holocaust was a part): ~60 million
slaughtered under the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; ~50 million
under the Peoples' Republic of China; and ~20 million under the
National Socialist German Workers' Party.
http://rexcurry.net/socialism-red-flags-socialists1c.jpg

On August 23, 1939, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics joined
with the National Socialist German Workers' Party to invade Poland in
a pact to divide up Europe.  The National Socialist German Workers’
Party (NSGWP) invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, and Soviet
Socialists followed shortly thereafter (Sept. 17). In their role as
allies, Soviet Socialists slaughtered more people in Poland than did
German Socialists. http://rexcurry.net/socialists.html

...............................................

Throughout history, the Serbs have been situated between two important
cultures: the Byzantine East (Islamic East) and the Latin West. They
were subjugated into slavery by the Moslem Turks for over five
centuries during the Middle Ages.

Slavs were the origin of the word "slave" in European lanuages and in
Arabic.

The word "Slav" is also related to the word "Serb," which is related
to the origin of the words "serf" and "serve" and "servitude," again
via the same root concept of "slave."
Under socialism, Slavs and Serbs became slaves once again: socialist
slaves.

After the collapse of the Soviet Socialism, Slavs and Serbs celebrated
freedom again.

After the collapse of Soviet Socialism, the Slava watch factory and
its property were expected to be rescued from socialism and returned
(sold) on the open market, in economic freedom, and capitalism, as
private property for retail development.

Today, the word "slava" has many meanings in Russia, Serbia and other
countries. "Slava" often is praise and glorification for deliverance
from slavey. It is often directed toward a saint believed to have
interceded for deliverance. A Slava sometimes celebrates the day that
a family's main ancestor killed his first Turkish soldier during the
wars between Serbia and Turkey. Slava celebrations have many parallels
to Passover celebrations, including commemoration of exodus from
slavery.

The Slava celebration revived in Serbia after the fall of the
socialist regime in Yugoslavia.
The doomsday clock of socialism continues to symbolize the threat of
shortages, poverty, misery, starvation, atrocities and mass slaughter.
The closest that the doomsday clock came to striking midnight was
during the years occupied by the the hate-spewing paramilitary
societies created in the socialist trio of atrocities (above). They
killed more people than would three nuclear bombs. The world still has
not rejected their philosophy of socialism and the deaths mount as the
bomb's clock keeps ticking.

slavs = славянин
glories = славы

Unfortunately, progroms, mass executions, slaughters of minorities,
crimes against humanity and mankind are not only the fact of left wing
politicians. It is an inbred trait of mankind, something deep inside
inherited from our animal past.

There is no end to idiocy. Remember when some official in DC  (David Howard)
was accused of racism because he used the word "niggardly"  (which means
"stingy" and has no racial connotation? Nevertheless the man lost his job.
There is no end to racial misunderstanding in America - slavery was
America's original sin and we will never get over it.

"Slava" as a Russian watch brand means "Glory" and has nothing to do with
the slaves or Slavs.  But, see above - professional race mongers don't let
facts get in their way when  they are playing the race card - there is too
much money in it to be discouraged by something as trivial as truth.

In any case, I understand that the 2nd Moscow Watch factory has been taken
over as a retail development and is no longer producing watches - the fate
of many Moscow factories that were sitting on now valuable real estate.

I just learned something!

I always thought a Mistress was something between a Mister and a Matress.

yes political correctness gone mad, we have a brand of biscuits called
Creole creams, been on the shelf for 3 years, and just because of one
morons complaint it is going to have a name change.

this unfortunately has brought out the ratbags, one particular ratbag of
Australian Native Descent wants a few other brands removed, Redskin
lollies, Coon cheese, a brand that has been around for long time here,
we used to have Golliwog biscuits that got renamed scalliwags, a lot of
children grew up with a Golliwog soft doll, still around but usually
found at the back of the store nowadays.

just plain stupidity.

That's just wrong.  "Creole" is a widely used word and has
entirely inoffensive meanings, such as a type of dialect or a
sort of ear-ring.

Then there was "Darkie" toothpaste (very popular in East Asia) whose logo
was a man in blackface (supposedly inspired by Al Jolson) with dazzling
white teeth.

It's now the meaningless  "Darlie" and the man in blackface is now a white
guy, because a multi-national (Colgate) bought them and immediately came
under pressure from the usual suspects. Though rumor has it that the trouble
was stirred up by their competitor P&G.

Oddly enough, the name of the product in Chinese, Hei Ren (literally: black
people) has not changed.  I suppose that's because racial grievance mongers
are not smart enought to read Chinese.

It's ok, we can still kill them in our favorite gory fashion. Looking
at the TV guide, that is still quite ok for general consumption.

In Aussie Rules footy, calling a player a cunt is ok. As long as it's
a colourless one.. reference to odour can still be used freely. ;)

Ah, but it is no longer acceptable to call a touring English
cricketer a "Pommy".  I believe one of your lot was fined
for that last year.

Come to think of it, perhaps losing that most favourite
insult may have contributed to your loss of the Ashes....

In the US today, the so-called N-word must never be uttered in any context
(at least by a white person - black people are permitted to call each other
by that name). Not even in jest or reference to a fish or whatever. Not at
all.  Never. It is the holy of holies, the line that must never be crossed
for any reason. The F-word, OTOH, is OK - last year after the local team won
the baseball championship one of the players was being interviewed on local
TV immediately after the game and in his excitement he blurted out, for all
the kiddies to hear - "We are the F***ing champions".  Once in my son's high
school history class, taught by a black teacher, the countries of Africa
were being discussed. There was one student who was unsure of the
pronunciation of the country of  Niger and much hilarity ensued.  On the one
hand, he had to answer the question being put to him. OTOH, he had to say
(what appeared to him to be)  the N-word to a black person's face, to his
teacher no less.  The poor boy's head nearly exploded.

Havent heard, but certainly possible. It is equally stupid. The word
Pom is so ingrained in our language that it will take forever to
eradicate it. Most times it is used as short for "English", with no
ill feelings at all.
Really, apart from outright explicits, it is the tone that counts. I
could call you a "gentleman", but given the situation and my tone, you
might start throwing furniture at me.

Eh, we got them back at the ODIs 6:1, though my British friends
quickly assured me that one dayers don't count for anything.
Apparently the same applies to 20/20. In short, anything we win is
just something they didn't want to win.
Now you tell me, how can one resist calling them "bloody Poms" ? ;)

Goodness, no.  I myself am happy to call myself a Pom when I
visit God's Own, never had a problem.  My worst times are
when I accidentally misidentify a Kiwi as an Aussie.  They
don't like that very much, for some strange reason....

Although you'd have to admit that it would be highly
unlikely to be insulted as a "gentleman" at a footy game or
in a bar in the back blocks somewhere...
:-)

20/20 and one-day matches are crowd-pleasers, really,
money-spinners to make the game work for television.  The
real deal is still a proper test match, with rain, tea
breaks and no bloody fairy-coloured lounge suits in
sight....

As for bad losers, I was in the country during the Four
Nations, and you should have hear the Aussies whining and
carrying on when thy got slaughtered by the All Blacks and
the Springboks....

If in doubt, just ask them what's 12 divided by 2.
Sex = Kiwi.
Six = Aussie.
Dunno = Queenslander.

I don't care that much for cricket, perhaps that's why the no nonsense
one dayers and 20/20 are more my cuppa. I watched the last day of each
of the Ashes for the same reason. The first four days(IMHO) is just
pissfarting around, it is generally the last day when the chasing team
needs to pull the finger out and the game becomes interesting.

You'll find those everywhere.
Certainly, last few times we lost a match, the media went nuts talking
about 'the problem with Aussie cricket'. Nothing. We lost. Someone had
to win, get over it idiots.  Arghh !
of course, we can always blame it on losing 3-4 of our best players
over the last year. One particular one to stupidity. (Symonds)  :)

A Kiwi is on holiday in the Aussie outback.

He sees a farmer, buggering the hell out of a sheep.

"That's disgusting", he thinks, "I have to say something".

So he goes over and says
"Listen here mate, back home we shear those"

The farmer replies
"You get your own, I ain't shearing this with nobody."

(works better when told in a pub after a schooner or three)

That doesn't always work, especially not in England where we
usually order up some rain on the last day.

It really is odd how fixated Australians are on sports.  You
do have other features and characteristics to your country
and people, did you know that?  I still have to figure out
how a whole nation of 20 million reasonably well-educated
people can be satisfied with living off whatever they can
dig out of the ground and playing or watching sports.
