Add4 or sus that thang?
My curiosity was peaked recently about the difference between sus and add4 chords. The following is the result of some limited resaerch: A lot of folks will say a Gsus (Gsus4) chord is a Gadd4, with the 3rd dropped (also that "sus4" is redundant in that "sus" implies the 4th unless otherwise noted like... more »

Serious Or Not?
I really like music theory and I found this on a music theory forum. Kinda curious as to what you guys think. Im still trying to figure out if the poster is even serious...Here it is: Dear wholenote community, I was having a discussion in another forum, on a planet far, far away about my generic chord naming system and I felt I did such a good job... more »

Clifton WMT-555C guitar tuner.
This neat little gadget has a plug in microphone for tuning an acoustic. Does anyone know what sort of microphone it is? It doesn't respond to whistling at it (the built in mic does) but it does pick up the sound when placed on the speaker grille of an old Casio keyboard. I'm starting to wonder if its not really a microphone at all, but just a... more »

Looking for pedal advice
I've owned several pedals; from multi-effects to individual pedals and sold them all out of disgust. Now I'm thinking of replacing (some of them) with the best. This is what I'm thinking: Dunlop Crybaby Classic ---> Keely Fuzz Head ----> Dunlop Uni-vibe. I'm thinking about adding a compressor and maybe a flanger later :-)... more »

Acrylic Nails
About 6 months ago I went ahead and had some acrylic nails put on. Very happy with them and there is a nail place within walking distance from me so it's nice and easy. I have a couple of questions. Do the tips ever need to be replaced? I just keep getting fills about every two months and all has... more »

Alternating Bass On D Chord
I'm working out a fingerstyle version of Mellow Yellow. I'm playing it in G major cause it's easy to finger the melody notes in that key. Chords are just G, C and D, at least that's all I'm using ;-) As with most tunes that use a D chord, I can't decide what bass notes to use under the D chord. A lot of beginners books etc. say to use F#,... more »
