Think about it: A system of economics invented by the rich, advocated by the rich, benefiting the rich almost exclusively and implemented by the rich is forced on Americans. It immediately slashes taxes on the rich, slashes taxes for their corporations, treats colossal mergers and "downsizing" as sacraments, turns a blind eye to monopolistic practices, collusion and price gouging (see Big Oil for details), is friendly towards anything that cheapens or eliminates labor (illegal aliens, eliminating overtime pay, eliminating benefits, etc.) and treats human beings as nothing more than a resource, like paper for the copier or gas for the truck. And workers are supposed to be grateful because when billionaires invest all their new tax breaks it tends to make the stock market go up, and when costs are cut to the point where there are lots and lots of menial, rotten, low paying jobs out there the "economy is doing well," and we are near "full employment," at least according to the rich people who we stupidly trust to deliver our news. Supply side economics is nothing but a scam. But the massive deficits it creates are not a scam. Those are fucking real. The misery and gap between rich and poor are real. All those interest bearing Treasury Bonds foreigners are holding are real and the money we will all (at least those of us making less than a million dollars a year) eventually have to pay to cover all that debt and interest will be real. Extremely real. Real as in "It was about 5 triilion in 2001 and now it's 10 triilion dollars and counting." That is not a cut, no matter how hard Rush Limbaugh tries to spin it into one.
