They obviously didn't quite think it through when they wrote that post.

On the other hand if one was not behind a router and had no software
firewall installed with all ports open...

You're confusing public & private IP. A user displays an identifiable
IP when he goes to a web site.

Here is another way which http://is.gd/4KrUg can trap IPs ...

http://expandurl.com/ shows the link uses 'redirect.me' and any
redirection provider like that one can log IPs.

Ask alt.privacy if you don't know.

What a boat load of horse shit. Anyone who has ever had *any*
experience running web services knows full well you're full of it.

You're a lying asshat. Any time *anyone* makes *any* connection to
a standard web site, redirected, *to* be redirected, or connected
directly, their IP is logged or "trapped". And your own log
excerpts prove that inconclusively you knuckle dragging buffoon.

Recently Hummingbird has been flooding this group with redirected URLs.

Hey, Hummy, I've just clicked one of your links.  So now go check your IP
log for a visitor at the same time as this message.

Oops, forgot to tell you I use TOR.  lol!

Yes it is crap humpingturd... apart from the bit describing you as a

So whether the IP is logged or not is up to the admin.

However, you are sad, so I'm sure you are collecting IP's. How's my list

Like the way hummingbírd the asspiring tyrant attracts humour. Almost

Not that I am a supporter, but every other political party has done the
same.

... and so has the Royal family. Weren't they involved in smearing
Harold Wilson?, and then there's the Nazi connection.

Hello Hummingbird.  Here's something more fascinating and informative
than your baited links.

It's a panorama you made from photographs taken from an office building
in Wimbledon.

<http://a.nf/25930c> or
<http://imgcentre.com/?v=autostitch1509458006.jpg>

If you zoom the pic you can just see your old school on the right.

Hummingbird, I've never been on the flight deck of a 747.  It's a large
commercial jet and I would ever be in a position to fly such a thing.

Don't be so modest about your panorama.  That panorama of yours is
genuinely interesting.  Especially if you zoom in close.

Was it taken near Wimbledon Broadway (approx UK zip SW19 3SF).

BTW do you have Google Streetview?  It could be useful.
