I'm looking for a simple fast loading low resource mp3/wma player for Windows XP. Doesn't need to rip, burn, look-up, have visualizations, load album art, play video, synch-to-device etc... Just simply play on file double click. Sequential queuing on multiple file selection would be nice.

Not as light (but still light) and no nonsense as Billy, but a good alternative that plays WMA: http://spider-player.com/

Though I like Billy and SpiderPlay better this one is very small and plays WMA http://www.un4seen.com/ XMPlay

I don't think Billy does the queuing from different folders either. At least I can't achieve it. I can only queue from within the same folder and if I then open a different folder I lose my queue as well. I have used this for years because I love how light it is.

It's lightening fast on huge playlists to. I just have all my music in one playlist, than it queues fine even when the files are in different folders. And I love the fact that you can just check for new files with F5. (adds them to bottom of playlist).

Thanks all for your suggestions.
Looks like I've settled on XMplayer.
It really is tiny and simple. It ads just enough functionality to the right click context menu to make queuing a snap.

The simpler the better, eh?
Several come to mind.
Google for any of these. They are commonly found.
COOLPLAYER .. essentially a single executable file, though other unnecessary fileage comes in the install. Depends upon you already having DirectSound installed for needed codecs, which you probably already do.
JUKE .. also essentially a single executable file, with the same unnecessary fileage coming in the install. Depends upon you already having DirectSound installed for needed codecs, which you probably already do.
1 BY 1 .. is a bit different. Simple, but comes with its own codecs to play a number of different music types (same as used by WinAmp), thus you can search for and use additional WinAmp codecs to play even more formats. This is my personal favorite.
Keep in mind that ANY music player requires certain codecs enabling it to play .MP3, .WAV, .MID, .WMA .. etc. Some come with such codecs, and others depend on what is already on your computer.
