Some guy just posted his first HDR effort in another group. It reminded me of Quake or the prehistory ethereal quality to Slaine.
I haven't been excited by games or movies for years. There's been a few great ones but the rest just seem to be too processed or just going through the motions. This photo reminds me of an earlier time.
There were some great movies made during the 1970's and many of the great actors like George C. Scott had real life experience. You can't travel the same road twice but I do miss that. Perhaps, we get the future we create...

Yeah, I was thinking of the sky in Doom3, but they're the same engine anyway. I'd have removed the lampost and the bin from the right hand side of the picture.

Quake had a bigger visceral impact which I think this has but you could make a case for Quake 3. I never played it much beyond having a fuck around and picking it apart so my recollection is a bit thin.
That lampost and bin bugged me as well but if you get rid of it the picture technically turns into art. You can clean things like that up if it's, say, a brochure and it isn't significant enough to misrepresent what's there but short of sawing the damn thing off you have to leave it alone.

Yeah. After I looked at the bin and light, then I started to get too concerned with symmetry etc. Then I remembered that this was a picture showing HD content and that's it. Listening to my old man faffing on about his photography too much methinks! The sky looks cool. 'nuff said.

I know what you mean.
Every time I hear someone bore on about "fast glass" I get this mental picture of some trainspotting anorak giving a nasal and overlong slideshow of their holiday.
