Subject: 190 heater on too often
11/5/98 there was message posted that I put below:
I have this problem and I was wondering.  It seems to only do this when
the car senses that it is cold outside and it decides to turn on the
heater.  Is there a way to disable this auto heater feature? And just
run the heater or ac manually?

from 11/5/98 posting:
One other thing I wanted to mention and this will be usefull for all
190 owners!!! has/have you ever had problems with the heat/air
condition where the two outer side vents blow hot air while the the two
center vents blow cold air with the air condition on ?, if so the
problem is a throttle sensor thats mounted on top of the heater
box ..the sensor will have to be replaced by somebody who is handy with
mercedes benz (or dealer) the problem is that the entire dashboard has
to be removed in order to change the sensor out, I charge $ 250.00
excluding parts. I hope I was any help to you ...I'll do better next
time.
Regards,
Rodney
