Subj: FW: Kaim Hill windfarm application
Hi Everyone,
I am forwarding on an email from Nigel Willis (Chairman of the local objection committee - www.saveyourregionalpark.com )
A few months ago Fairlie moor http://www.llsclub.org.uk/sites/fairlie.html was under threat of a windmill farm being built on the hill site that is flown by paraglider and hanglider folk as most know this site comes under the LLSC umbrella with Kenny & I being the club's reps. That now has become a reality, and planning permission has been applied for!
I have discussed with Nigel at some length about the form that they want signed by the flying fraternity. I did put a case forward for a general sheet that everyone can add their names to, unfortunately Nigel has said because of the way the local government systems work that would only count as one objection, but if everyone printed one off, filled in the details and sent it off to the address mentioned on top left of form, and then each form sent in will count as an objection. Nigel also added that every vote will be needed to stand any chance of the local authorities turning down the application, and the flying community numbers are much needed.
So if you could spend 5 minutes for this enclosed form and post it well before the deadline that being 20th September then maybe just maybe we will get a result. Now I must stipulate that this is very much an individual decision as there are arguements for and against and I don't think any of us object to the windfarm principal just their locations so all I want to do is to inform you of this impending threat to Fairly moor and hopefully encouraging everyone to sign it. We need as many objection sheets sent in as possible as the cards are stacked against us. Those locally who use the site have been along supporting the local objection group that, but we need your help signing this objection form could help save flying at Fairlie. Afterall it's only the cost of envelope and 2nd class stamp plus 5 minutes of your time.
I have tried the other club websites but have heard nothing back, so I don't know if the message has got through. So another favour to ask of those who are in touch with any of the following webmasters of the following clubs: Bob Veitch (SHPF & SMPC), Highland club, AHPC, Ochils, NHPC (Ian Miskin?) to see if something along these means could be posted on their club websites for their members. CSC I have already been in touch with.
One final point I think that if there are any pro's and con's about the windfarm thing can I suggest that these points be discussed out with the google group, I just wanted to use this means to appraise you of the situation.
Cheers,
Sean.

Kenny & Sean
The application is now with North Ayrshire and we need to generate as many objections from the soaring fraternity as possible between now and 20th Sept.
With this in mind, I have designed an objection form particularly for you - see attached. Could both of you get your heads together and decide how best to distribute these by e.mail to your club members, all other soaring clubs etc and ask them to complete, sign and post them back to you initially. Once you have gathered these together I can collect them from you or you can drop them off if passing Lochwinnoch direction.
This objection form for the soaring clubs is a bit different to the one we will be using locally round the houses etc. We are setting up a team in Fairlie but have nobody in West Kilbride to organise a house to house collection. We have 6000 copies of our ordinary form printed so if you know anyone in the West Kilbride area that could set up a team, please let us know / put them in touch.
The access road for Kaim Hill will start near Blackshaw Farm on the Dalry / West Kilbride road, then goes through the Crosbie Hills, over the Fairlie / Dalry moor road and up and round Kaim Hill. The full application documentation is available in Fairlie, West Kilbride, Largs libraries and will be available at the Kilbirnie library.
I presume you are both members now so, like all members, you should receive our latest Newsletter in a couple of days time, they were posted today + 7 'ordinary' objection forms.
Let me know what you suggest please
Regards
