Thanks Dan! Now...when you say "system" are you referring to the
Adsense ads database? I just went there again...the ads look much
better. Do you think it just needed time or something because I just
created the page about 5 minutes before I posted my original.
Yes, the time is needed before the bot crawls a newly created page to
select targeted ads.
The system's database is the actual ads the advertisers buy. Adsense
doesn't create them by itself, it's actual advertisers who order ads,
so it's natural there may be no specific ads at any given time.

Keywords in meta tag has no impact on anything these days.
Keywords used in actual content are the ones you get ads selected by.
So just try using words you want ads to be relevant to in the text on
page. There's no other way to affect ads.

Thanks tjankus. I figured the Adsense ads were based strictly from
words within the content of a page but wasn't 100% for sure. I have
another question then...why do people use keywords in META.

Also, I forgot to ask another question. In order for my pages to get
relevant Adsense ads, is it ok to use tag pools (aka. tag clouds) for
my pages? An example of a tag cloud can be found here:

I don't reply to many topics, but I had to put my 2 cents worth in
here.
Frankly I don't know much about tag pools. I do know a few things
about Adwords and Adsense.
I have almost mastered getting relivent ads on my sites. Having said
that, I totally disagree about meta tags having no value in
determining ad relivency. In my experience meta tags can play a huge
role with Adsense and with other Google crawlers. I would say about
50% or more.
For example if you just happen to create a new page and publish it
with no text, but have your meta tag filled in properly, You will get
the best relivent ads to appear. (I don't recommend leaving any pages
published with no text for any long length of time, since it may lead
to being disabled)
Once your meta tag is filled out and you begin to include content and
text, the meta tag will start to become drowned out the more and more
tect you add and then become less important.
I'm not going to tell anyone what they should do. as for me though. I
rely alot on meta tag and keep it very slim. I also try to keep my
keyword to 1 keyword or no mor than 3 on my index page.
Example
Tile= keyword
Discription= keyword + no more than 10 - 15 words to validate keyword
Keyword= keyword
Then I use keyword in header and around 4-5 times with in the text
content. I also keep my text content between 250- 500 words. I'm sure
i've stated more info than needed but thats my thought on that.
