Subject: VME on XP 64
I have installed VME on my New XP 64bit OS installation and was
wondering if anyone had any experience of such a combination.  I would
most like to know wether there is a seperate codec package for 64bit
or should i just run the klite pack mentioned in the help section (or
even use the 64bit Vista codec pack).

Subject: RE: VME on XP 64
Hi,

I was first using the 64 bit version of VME with the 64 bit Vista codec pack
(installed on top of the vista 32 bit pack) however I ran into real
incompatibility issues and 64 bit codecs would continuously crash Media
Player and Media Center. If you are using the 64 bit app then you will need
to install 64 bit codecs.

So what I do now which works extremely well is install the 32 bit version of
VME on my system and install 32 bit versions of all important codecs (not a
pack). Now because VME streams the video in WMV I can then use media player
and media centre (64 bit) to watch the video... no unreliable 64 bit codecs
required.

The difference in speed with the 32 bit version and 64 bit versions is
negligible for normal streaming of video.

Cheers,

Gary
