OK. I've had this problem before ...

Look in the ERR.H item in the SYSCOM file. This gives the error
translations.

Error 3007 is 'No VOC record'.

So, looking back at your original post, you have defined a VOC entry -
but there is no dictionary component. So create a dictionary:

CREATE.FILE DICT JUNK

Another couple of things to try:

Open a DOS box from Windows and try to list the shared folder using a
DIR command.

If that doesn't work, you've got general networking issues.

Assuming that does work, try the same thing from the QM command
prompt:

! In general, multi-value systems can run run into speed issues when
dealing with large dynamic arrays - but it depends on the
optimisations built into the language and on how you are using it.

Long, long ago, in a galaxy far away, MV databases used to count down
the dynamic array whenever you accessed the variable. Hello,

We're working on very large variables (300 000 bytes) and it seems too
heavy for QM to work on this large variable and so time is exponential
when adding data to this big variable.

Is there any optimization on QM part we can do to work faster with
big items ?

 Hi Gary,
This should work fine but the NETFILES configuration parameter must be set
to enable remote access (See the QM Reference Manual).
