Download the .cab file from www.google.com/gmm to your PC. Then move it to your phone via active sync. Then install the cab file.
I had the same problem, the direct download on your phone is messed up. It will tell you the download is complete, then the file is only 300k when its supposed to be 600k.
I just downloaded it to my PC first, then moved it over and installed, worked fine

1. On my Cingular 8525 I went to I.E. Browser and went to site "www.google.com/gmm". 2. Hit the New Windows Mobile Cab link at the bottom. 3. Followed all the instructions and installed in SD. 4. Followed all prompts. 5. Went to programs and "Google" was there. 6. Been using for last couple hours.
Much faster than Windows Live Search Mobile. Speed of maps is faster. Eventually I uninstalled Windows Live Search Mobile, but I noticed that the Traffic feature (I am in S.F. bay Area) isn't updating just right. I hit traffic and the Map showed GREEN. Man, life is not fair.

make sure the file is at least 600k after downloading to your PC... maybe that download has problems too. I think its 607k, if not, re download til you get a complete one
