Highlighting words

When I type the phrase I'm looking for, Desktop search comes up with
the document - but lots of my Word Documents are very long. Is there
any way Google Desktop Search can be made to highlight the phrase, so
that I don't have to wade my way through all the pages?

Hopefully I'll have some results by tomorrow. I just opted to reindex
a few minutes ago and it says 83% complete with .1 idle hours left.
Seems inaccurate...

Hi,

If you set Google Desktop search on you computer as default search
engine. And you press the 'Windows logo' key and the "F" key. Then it
also open the quicksearch box.

Here the search bar is displaying in the start bar, but it doesn't
display the 'Google' logo inside the textbox.

search not indexing received emails

Hello,
I just got a new computer with XP. I moved my outlook 2002 email over
to this new computer and supposedly indexing is complete but it seems
to me that it is only indexing emails that I send not that I receive.
So this makes it really difficult to find emails. I never need to find
what I send to people as often as I need to find what I receive.

Try wildcards in the string (e.g. *, ?), so try entering a search for
anything with 67892318014392 in it by entering *67892318014392* which
SHOULD return anything either before of after the desired data. If
wildcards do NOT work, then there is something else wrong that needs
to be looked at by Google...

Desktop stopped indexing chats

The last chat conversation google desktop indexed for me was almost 3
months ago. Everything else has continued indexing as normal. Any
ideas how I can fix this?

I have similar problems and also only have one identity and OE is my
default mail application. I have tried re-installing and re-indexing
GDS.

I do get more emails indexed than many who are reporting this problem
but still nowhere near all of them and not even new ones that have
come in since I installed GDS.
