CARLISLE HEALTH COMMITTEE.—Friday.
Mr. JAMES presided.—The Rate Collectors reported that they had paid to
the Treasurer £300 during the week, making £7200 towards the first moiety of
the current rate.—Dr. ELLIOT reported there were 14 deaths in the past week,
two being from whooping cough and infantile diarrhea. The death rate was
equal to 21 per 1000 of the population per annum; in the corresponding week
last year there were 15 deaths, the death rate being equal to 22 per 1000
per annum.
