Description: Anything to do with Copster Green Lancashire

Copster Green 1940s
My family and cousins were evacuated to Copster Green from Manchester during the war. Some of the children were at school there. Does anyone remember adults or children with the surnames Paul or Erstling from that time? I was a baby there and remember nothing about it. Thanks Diane Paul

Old photographs
Does anyone on this list have any old photographs of Copster Green (1800's and early 1900's), in particular of Penine Cottage, Castle Cottage and Windy Harbour? We are trying to learn a little of the history of the buildings. Thanks Maggy

Web cam

I now live in Meadville Pennsylvania and have my own metallurgical consulting business ([link]) It was most enjoyable for me to see Pendle Hill, see the weather,... more »

Daffodils
Bit late now as they are all dying off, but thanks to the people at Lovely Hall for the marvellous display of daffodils on Lovely Hall Lane by the entrance to the Hall. Thanks also to the Rainbows & Brownies of St Peter's Church for the daffs they planted down the new path.

The Wheelie Bins
I think its a wheelie good IDEA, but that's about all. RE S Ingrams problem of the boxes... blimey i thought 1 bin was bordering on overkill, now we have 3 and mr ingraham wants more? besides, separating cardboard from metal is not a time consuming process. surely moving a bin every week or two isn't going to hurt... more »

What are people's thoughts on the Wheelie Bins that have arrived in Copster Green?
Here is a link to a newspaper article [link] My personal views are that it is a good idea but and there is always "a but" that a few of us do not have direct access to the rear of our properties (Terraced) and i have 30 ft and step to the bridal path.... more »
