On Saturday 21st June 2008 there are plans to hold a Round Britain
powerboat race. If the event goes ahead it will only be the third time
in history that such a race has taken place. The race is likely to be
staged over 10 legs over 12 days completing a 1600 nautical mile trip.
The organisers hope to attract around 60 boats and are looking for both
competitors and sponsors
There will be multiple classes and the committee involved in organising
the event includes Tim Powell (who competed in the first race in 1969
and organised the second in 1984) and Class 1 legend Steve Curtis MBE.
