Salary range: £23,925 to £34,800 dependent on qualifications and
experience
Holiday: 23 days annual leave, plus Public Holidays
CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale seeks a Warehouse Manager to oversee
it's suite of three warehouses in St Albans, with responsibility for
managing despatches and returns of stock and equipment for Beer
Festivals throughout the year, primarily the Great British Beer
Festival in Earls Court each year, and responsible for three staff.
A flexible approach is required in dealing with our Branches, and a
methodical manner in maintaining logs of our equipment, and the
appropriate test certification, and managing the budget for servicing
& replacing equipment.
Purpose of the Job:
To manage effectively CAMRA's Warehouse facilities
To apply CAMRA's Membership Service Charter to all Warehouse tasks
through promoting a willing, positive and supportive service to
branches and staff. Ensuring, where possible, that equipment and
stocks are available to members and staff on request
To manage the Warehouse Assistant Staff Team, currently three (one
full-time & two part-time)

This position is at ‘Grade 3' - Manager
Salary (within grade 3 scale - £23,925 - £34,800) is dependent on
qualifications and experience
Permanent position on successful completion of three month
probationary period
Contributory pension scheme on successful completion of probationary
period
Performance review at three, six months and twelve months in the first
year and annually thereafter
One week's notice by either party during first three months; four
weeks notice thereafter
Normal working hours 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday; one hour lunch break;
flexibility required as attendance at some evening and weekend
meetings may be required
23 days annual leave, plus Public Holidays
Occasional travel in the UK
Mileage on CAMRA Business (currently 35p per mile when using own car),
plus subsistence and overnight stay allowance
Expected to attend CAMRA meetings out of office hours; time off in
lieu as appropriate.
A flexible approach to CAMRA branch requirements, which will mean some
weekend/evening work
Key responsibilities and functions
To manage warehouse staff including carrying out regular assessments
of individual performance and the development of training programmes
as required
To be involved in the recruitment of warehouse staff as required
To ensure that new members of warehouse staff undergo a full induction
session
To manage CAMRA's warehouse facilities, ensuring they are efficient,
safe and well run
To maintain records of equipment and stock stored in CAMRA warehouses,
and movement to and from Festivals
To ensure that beer festival equipment is maintained in good, safe and
clean condition at all times
To devise and implement, in association with the Head of Finance and
Branch Support, improved procedures for use by CAMRA branches of
equipment held at the warehouses and communication with festival
organisers
To maximise the use of warehouse facilities for the distribution of
CAMRA merchandise to beer festivals and other customers
To liaise with, and provide a good service to CAMRA branches regarding
orders for beer festival equipment
To liaise with appropriate members of staff re deliveries to and from
CAMRA warehouses
To identify and prioritise general warehouse routines
To arrange a ‘deep-clean' of CAMRA warehouses each year at an
appropriate time
To offer support to the activities of CAMRA Games & Collectables
To liaise with the Chairman of CAMRA Games & Collectables regarding
CG&C stock requirements
To liaise with the GBBF Procurements Officer regarding existing stock
levels and festival requirements
To be responsible for the upkeep of CAMRA vehicles including arranging
servicing and repairs as required and keeping a full record of
incidents which result in damage to the vehicles.
To provide support for external CAMRA events as required
