Subject: Acumen News - Books available - ECBACO progress

You will be pleased to hear that we now have stocks of the reprinted Tom
Smith, which appears to be identical with the previous printing and that Law
Books are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.  All outstanding orders will be
posted as soon as Royal Mail reopens.  We can also offer "Cricket for
Dummies" at £15.99 post free in UK cheque with order.

I have also discovered that there were League Cricket Handbooks for 2007
published by Knowing The Score, covering (1) North East, (2) North West and
(3) Midlands.  The 2007 editions are being sold off at £5 including
P&P.  Please
send cheques to 118 Alcester Road, Studley, Warwickshire, B80 7NT or phone
01527 454482 to pay by card, or visit www.knowthescorebooks.com  The 2008
editions will be available by 20 April priced £9.99 (post free for anyone
who places and order by 1 April 2008, plus £2 P&P thereafter)

Negotiations are continuing between ECBOA and ACU&S about the formation of
ECBACO.  Reports are very patchy as to the movement in the various County
Boards.  I understand that Geoff Lowden (acuschair...@acus.org.uk) would
appreciate progress reports.  I would also like a copy – indicating whether
it can be mentioned in my next email – or indeed you can share it publicly
for yourself on http://nompere.proboards37.com  Are County Boards subsuming
existing Local Associations and Branches, or ignoring them and starting new
County OAs as well?  What is happening about cross boundary associations?

Meanwhile, I would much appreciate details of any forthcoming courses,
whether run by ACU&S, ECBOA, ECBACO, ICUS or anyone else as I will publish
these details widely in the interest of training more umpires and scorers –
of which there seems to be an increasing shortage.  Again, you can post it
yourself on http://nompere.proboards37.com (in the relevant thread!)
