Surfing the net to plan your wedding - the pros and cons

I am often asked how and why did I start 5 Star wedding Directory, so
below is a brief discription as to what gave me the idea.

After helping my sister arrange her wedding last year, we found that
the web was just great in helping to find wedding venues, florist,
millons of wedding photographer and off course an abundenment of
wedding dress, simply so many companies all at a click of a mouse.
BUT, and there was a big but, the amount of rubbish on the net would
leave any bride-to-be seriously frustrated, I felt sorry for my sister
as time after time what we thought would be a good quality site, by
first reading the company site name and its discription.

However, time after time one would click on the link to reveal a
poorly put together creation of someones business, how dissapointing.
I am not saying that all sites are bad, or poorly designed, and hard
to navigate around, its just that so many seemed to lack that certain
something. Do you know what I mean? Come on girls let me hear you say
ya!!

Anyway moving on, we spent an age looking for the right type of
wedding photographer to capture her big day, and off course we all
want to look like the cover of Vogue on the wedding day. However, the
stuff that was coming up in the searches would leave many bride-to-be
to consider having a relative shoot their wedding.

Another thing that we found is that many of the wedding directories
where stacked with so many companies all offering differing levels of
quality and price bracket, so we found that we where spending time
shortlisting a few, but ended up not really loving any.

We deciede to use the trusted method of going off to see what we could
find at some of the Wedding Fairs held in the UK, such as the Designer
Wedding Show in London.

And I must say that I felt that I wanted to get married, we where both
blown away by the standard and quality that was being displayed they
had some of the best companies exhibiting. And to my amazment, my
sister selected her dress designer and the most lush wedding cake in
less that 2 hours.

The moral of this story is that yes the web can be of great help, but
unless you find a site that offers what you are looking for, by using
some key terms, such as luxury wedding dresses, 5 star luxury venues,
exclusive honeymoon destinations, you could spend all your lunch hours
for week trying to find the right wedding supplier.
