Elbow Bending at Ripon.
May 2005; During the REA weekend at Ripon.
L - R: - Alan (Jethro) Oakey, Mick Harness, and Eddie Klak. Participating in some serious and manly quaffing of fine ales. This is the first time I'd met Alan Oakey since we'd all three served together in 37 Squadron during the 1960s.
I'd recently met up with Mick again via the REA. in Scotland.  He married a Scots lass and had settled in Scotland many years ago. He now works for the M.O.D, and runs a squad pumping gas into fighter aircraft at RAF Leuchars. Alan has had to retire early due to poorish health. But he can still bend elbows with the best of em. Now I'm not one for carrying tales, but I did notice him manfully shifting ale like a man with hollow legs, and all with no visible effect. God we didn't arf build real sappers in them days.
